For students & researchers

# Find research. *Understand its value.*

Start with a clear explanation. Understand what a study found, where its limits lie, and whether it belongs in your project.

From a question to a useful source

1. 01
    **Understand the study**
Read the explanation in plain language.
2. 02
    **Decide if it fits**
Consider the findings and the limits together.
3. 03
    **Look at the evidence**
Explore the methods, then follow the sources.

Belief & research methods

Preregistered pilot · 2026

### [How do you build a study that can tell you your own belief is wrong?](https://www.strategicintelligenceresearch.org/research/the-terminal-experiment/explainer/)

What the study found

The pilot did not support the author’s prediction about teachings and retention. A separate textual analysis left two traditions undecided and found one philosophical counterexample. The registered question joining the two analyses was not tested.

Keep the limits in view

This small pilot does not refute the author’s belief, establish a causal effect, or show that its AI-assisted workflow outperforms ordinary research.

Cyber policy & resilience

Four-country comparison · 2025

### [What can four countries teach the United States about cyber resilience?](https://www.strategicintelligenceresearch.org/research/cyberspace-policy-resilience/explainer/)

What the study found

The study compares Estonia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Its documentary analysis points to policy coordination, public-private cooperation, and workforce development as priorities for U.S. cyber resilience.

Keep the limits in view

This is a 2025 documentary comparison, not a test of policy effectiveness or a current policy inventory. Practices depend on national context; document-reference counts do not rank cybersecurity performance.

Privacy & public trust

Florida case study · 2025

### [What does this Florida study reveal about police technology, privacy, and public trust?](https://www.strategicintelligenceresearch.org/research/police-technology-privacy-public-trust/explainer/)

What the study found

In small civilian and officer surveys, opinions on privacy intrusion were evenly split. Most respondents in each group believed that having a voice in laws makes compliance more likely.

Keep the limits in view

The questions differed between groups. These self-reports do not establish statewide opinion or changes in actual behavior.
